Problems & Conditions
According to the National Institutes of Health’s National Eye Institute, more than 10 million Americans have undiagnosed eye problems and conditions that can affect their vision and their eye health. Cataracts, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and numerous other conditions all represent serious threats to an individual’s vision if they are left undiagnosed and untreated.
In addition to those conditions, more than 180 million Americans have vision impairment – whether near- or far-sightedness, or both.
Fortunately, many of these eye conditions, as well as vision impairment, have warning signs, and solutions. Protecting eye health begins with having a comprehensive eye exam, by recognizing the warning signs associated with eye conditions, and by acting on them with a visit to an eye care provider.
